課程概述

This course intends to equip the students with the understanding of the theory construction, the philosophical, moral and ethical premises inherent in different theories. The students will learn to critically analyze constructs, concepts, and guiding principles for practice theories, as well as to evaluate the professional utility of different theories.

課程目標
This course intends to equip the students with the understanding of the theory construction, the philosophical, moral and ethical premises inherent in different theories. The students will learn to critically analyze constructs, concepts, and guiding principles for practice theories, as well as to evaluate the professional utility of different theories. 
課程要求
Evaluation Criteria:
The text books have been reserved in the Library Reference Room (LW-12), and relative materials will be handed out as the class proceeds. The students are expected to review all assigned readings before the class in order to participate in the class discussion. Class attendance, one take-home exam and a final paper will be the basic requirement for taking this course.
Mid-term Exam: 40%, Class Participation: 10%, and Final Paper: 50%

課堂討論形式:
1.大家要將討論問題或心得(註明相關課本來源頁碼及你名字),在每週六中午12點之前 e-mail 寄交輪值整理討論題綱的同學,他/她才有充裕的時間整理好,在週日中午之前寄交給大家和我,然後我們才有時間在週一下午上課前預先過目、思考。也請輪值同學在課堂上提供討論題綱。
2.輪值整理討論題綱的同學有權依照自己看法來整併問題,他/她也負責帶領/催化當次課堂上的討論,不必然要回答問題(當然也可以適時說說自己的看法)。我也會參與討論(若沒人開口,也可能點名提問喔),請帶領的同學注意各題討論時間分配的掌控,最後記得留20分鐘給我(討論到17:00時停止)。
3.所以請大家要由週二就開始預習啦,由於內容較多,每天讀一些才會來得及,辛苦了,先困而學之以後才能樂而學之。
期末報告:
期末作業的目的是為你將來論文作準備,所選文章應會是其重要的參考文獻,所以搜尋方向是在社工中英期刊文章有關你的研究領域,估計應是先找到多篇都有明顯研究理論架構的實證(質化/量化)研究,然後選出你覺得不錯的(理論概念與研究現象貼切度)那篇。而我第一個研判標準即視其與你未來論文相關度,希望此作業能成為你未來論文重要相關內容。針對作者文章內對研究理論/觀點/架構內涵的界定、及運用,你有哪些正(稱讚)、負面(批駁)看法?
